Yoga Therapy

Did you know that yoga is an effective means of healing physical, mental and/or emotional pain? 

We can enjoy many benefits of yoga in group classes, however, inner healing can only take place when each person's individual needs are taken into consideration. Yoga therapy tailors to the needs of the individual in one-on-one sessions.  Yoga empowers people in the healing process as they are required to practice regularly, rather than being a passive recipient of treatment. This means that the student is actively enagaged in the path to their own well-being. It helps to promote all-round positive health as well as assisting particular medical conditions.

A wide range of mind/body practices can be used including postural and breathing exercises, deep relaxation, visualizations, vocal sounds, lifestyle changes and meditation. Your own practice is developed for you to do at home.

Yoga Therapy Session Outline

Yoga therapy is conducted as a private one-on-one session. If you are new to yoga it is recommended that you book in initially for at least 3 sessions. Below is a general outline of how the sessions will run.

Session 1 - Discussion around your needs and goals for your home practice.

Session 2 - You will be personally taught your practice and a copy will be given to you as an easy guide to do at home. This is a great opportunity to check your alignment in the postures and esnure tht you are using the correct techniques.

Session 3 -Follow-up session where the teacher will watch you do the practice. Adjustments and recommendations will be made. Any specific questions will be addressed.

Follow-up sessions  - will be required from time to time. The frequency will depend upon each person's needs and financial capability. Some people like to continue with sessions every couple of weeks, for others, 4 -  6 week follow-up could be appropriate. This can be openly discussed with your teacher.

Your personal investment: $85 per session.

Cancellation fee: If you are unable to make your private lesson, please contact your teacher within 24 hours. 50% of consultation fee applies if you do not inform us within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment. Full consultation fees apply if you do not inform us at all.
